The ongoing covid situation is going from bad to worse! It is deepening its grip day by day, moment by moment. With its first wave, COVID-19 affected the whole wide world and human life came to a standstill. The economy, human life, mental stability everything was affected deeply. People lost their jobs as well as their health due to which mental instability came into being. Slowly and gradually after its peak, the cases decreased and human life was again on track. But almost six months after the peak of its first wave in September 2020, the cases in India once again started rising. And now, India is in the grips of a devastating second wave of COVID-19.
Every state has opted for fresh lockdowns and is worried about the grim ongoing pandemic crisis. The second wave of this virus is far more deadly and distressing. With the mutant being more harmful and directly targeting the lungs, there is an acute shortage of medicines, hospital accommodation and oxygen cylinders. There is chaos, confusion and havoc all around. But taking hold of the situation in the best possible way, Hon’ble Chief Minister of the State, Mr. Ashok Gehlot and his team is leaving no stones unturned for the safety, health and well-being of its people.
Understanding the vulnerability of the situation, Congress-led State Government is performing various noteworthy initiatives and schemes. Since the pandemic started and till today, the government is constantly worried and taking productive steps to help the people and their families. Under the guidance of AICC President Smt. Sonia Gandhi, AICC Control rooms have been set up to coordinate with the party’s state units about the relief activities being carried out during the second wave of COVID-19. AICC control room shall coordinate with PCC control rooms regularly and report back with the feedback. The Control room has been set up at PCC Headquarters. Mr. Govind Singh Dotasra, PCC Chief, believes that with the help of the 24*7 control room, the corona-affected patients would receive instant assistance. Just dial 0141-2361355 and avail assistance!
Protecting the common man from the grip of the covid-19 infection, ‘Humane’ CM, Shri Ashok Gehlot has decided to provide free vaccines to people aged between 18 to 45 years. Several oxygen plants have been set up and infrastructure has been developed in the medical field. Apart from this, nutritious meals are available to the people under ‘Indira Rasoi Yojana’ at a minimal cost of Rs.8 per plate.
The health ministry is constantly on its toes since the onset of the second wave. A COVID-19 helpdesk is functioning 24 hours, where the patient, as well as the family, can avail help from any district of the state and register complaints as well. The helpline no. 181 will resolve issues regarding ambulances, ventilators, oxygen and beds for the patients. Apart from that, the state government has successfully created an online portal to show the online status of various categories of beds that are available in government and private hospitals in the state. The in-charge of district level at each hospital and control room phone numbers of the respective district are there on the portal so that the patient or the family can connect easily. This is a great step towards the wellbeing of covid patients and their families, as it will not only resolve the bed crisis but would also help in reducing the chaos and confusion all around.
Another need of the hour initiative by the state government was creating state level helpline number 1800-180-6030, where the consumers can complain about black marketing of products during the curfew/lockdown. One can complain online also at www.consumeradvise.in
Congress-led state government is constantly working for the security and welfare of its residents. During the first wave also, the state government was applauded for its remarkable steps towards combating the pandemic crisis, and at the onset of the second wave too, the government will fight relentlessly and would successfully set the benchmark for other states.
